Xerox DocuPrint P8e
The P8e is a 600 dpi laser printer with 4 MB memory and supports PCL5e. The memory is upgradable to 42 MB. The printer drivers offer an uncluttered and user-friendly interface and allow you to control all the basic print settings. You can set the greyscale printing options to photo, scanned art or line art. There is also an option to print coloured text in grey or black, the graphics mode can be set to raster or vector, and the graphics quality to high, normal or draft.
With the second-highest overall score of 66 the P8e performed just a shade lower than the winner, the Samsung ML-5200A. The P8e proved to be above average in terms of print speed, and logged 54, 43 and 57 seconds for each of the three test files (text, combo and image file, respectively). The print quality was very good, and very similar to the ML-5200A. The DocuPrint P8e, however is much cheaper than the ML-5200A. The Xerox DocuPrint P8e is suitable for small offices where budget is an important consideration.
